Childhood cancer kills more children
each year than Asthma, Cystic
Fibrosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Congenital anomalies and pediatric
Cancer is the number one disease responsible for the death
of children, and it is the leading cause of nonaccidental death
In Canada, approximately 1,400 children are diagnosed with
cancer each year. That breaks down to 4 or 5 a day.
Over 10,000 are already living with some aspect of cancer
or its long-term effects.
The treatment and cure for these children is a 24-hour,
7-day-a-week process requiring specialized care.
The odds of winning the battle against childhood cancers
are getting better for each patient.
