The Coast to Coast Grant Committee is appointed to provide expertise and guidance on areas of need and programming to benefit the childhood and young adult cancer community. In addition, this committee will provide insight and analysis of funding gaps in the sector to ensure our disbursements are making the most measurable impact.
Len Pace, Board of Directors, Coast to Coast Against Cancer – Chair Len is a senior executive in the commercial real estate investment and development industry. Len has been volunteering and riding in CTC’s Tour for Kids as well as the National Kids Cancer Ride since 2007, when his son Alex was first diagnosed with osteosarcoma.
Jeff Rushton President & CEO of Media Resources International Inc. as well as the Founder and passionate volunteer for Coast the Coast Against Cancer Foundation.
Dr. James, A Whitlock, MD Division Head and Women’s Auxiliary Millennium Chair in Haematology/ Oncology and Director of the Garron Family Cancer Centre at The Hospital for Sick Children, Senior Associate Scientist in the Child Health Evaluative Sciences Program at the SickKids Research Institute, and Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Toronto.
Antonia Palmer Founder, Neuroblastoma Canada and co-founder of Ac2orn. She volunteers with 3CTN, Network of Networks (N2), NANT, and writes for the CNCF Parent Neuroblastoma Handbook. Antonia has three sons, her oldest son Nate was diagnosed with stage IV high-risk neuroblastoma in 2009, had a CNS relapse in 2010 and he is now in long-term follow-up.
Dr. Bruce Crooks, MD Division of Hematology-Oncology, Paediatrics, IWK & Associate Professor, Dalhousie University. He is a Senior Scientist at the Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute and has been an active rider in Coast to Coast’s National Kids Cancer Ride.
Julie Deleemans, MSc., PhD. (s) University of Calgary – Cumming School of Medicine, Department of Oncology, Division of Psychosocial Oncology, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She is an AYA cancer survivor, having been diagnosed and treated for stage IV laryngeal cancer in 2006 when she was 18.
Jaime Wilson, Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation Managing Director. Jaime is an inspiring leader who brings strong leadership, vision, advocacy and program management skills to her role with the Foundation. Jaime earned her undergraduate degree in English Literature from York University in Toronto. Among her many notable accomplishments, she includes a summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, an expedition to the North Pole and sea-kayak journey through the Bay of Exploits, Newfoundland. She enjoys spending her free time with her 4-year-old son, Henry Maddox.
