  • Diagnosis: Acute Lympocytic Leukemia, early Pre-B

Some facts about my treatment:

I was diagnosed with Leukemia when I was 19 months old. I was diagnosed on August 31st, and started chemo on September 1, 2004.

I finished treatment 2.5 years later. It was very hard to have cancer, I had lots of trips to the hospital. Tons of finger pokes, and chemo. I missed my brothers and sisters when I had to stay in the hospital.

What I want people to know about me

I am a cancer survivor. I am a really good swimmer. I am good at making bracelets out of gimp.

My favourite day was

On my wish trip I went to the Bibbidy Boppity Boutique and was “made up” like Cinderella. I met Cinderella later and she said we were twins.

The worst thing about having cancer

Is that you could die.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Olympic swimmer.

My message to other kids undergoing treatment

Be strong, I beat cancer you can too.

If you could have one superpower strength, what would it be?

Super speed, so I could be really fast.

If I had three wishes they would be…

1) to go to Jamaica
2) To go to see Justin Beiber with my best friend
3) That no one would get cancer

I’m involved with Coast to Coast because…

You want to help other kids with cancer.

Our Featured Ambassador

This is Josh Nelson – a childhood cancer survivor. He knows about facing all the challenges of childhood cancer:

“I know first-hand how it feels to be a prisoner in the hospital and endure the surgeries and the endless needles and treatments. I know how it feels to lose my hair, throw up regularly and watch other kids around me earn their wings. I lost a part of my childhood that I will never get back. I know how it feels to look different and to be different. That’s something that I wouldn’t wish for any other kid to go through, and that is why I do what I do.”
