  • Hometown: Calgary, Alberta
  • Year of Diagnosis: 2013
  • Diagnosis: Rhabdomyosarcoma and neurofibromatosis Type 1

What I want people to know about me: I love to play. I like board games, lego, cars, trains and doing crafts. I love being on my bike even in the winter!  I have a younger brother named Bodi

The worst thing about having cancer: Ongoing hospital stays and visits, chemo and feeling sick after chemo.

My message to other kids on treatment: You are a super hero!

Some facts about my treatment: At 3 months of age, the doctors found a mass, I was scheduled for an emergency surgery. The doctors told us right away it was cancer, I was admitted to the oncology unit. I had chemo for a year and I’m now in remission.

I’m involved in Coast to Coast Against Cancer because…I love to bike and I love camp!

What would you like to be when you grow up? A Carfixer

Our Featured Ambassador

This is Josh Nelson – a childhood cancer survivor. He knows about facing all the challenges of childhood cancer:

“I know first-hand how it feels to be a prisoner in the hospital and endure the surgeries and the endless needles and treatments. I know how it feels to lose my hair, throw up regularly and watch other kids around me earn their wings. I lost a part of my childhood that I will never get back. I know how it feels to look different and to be different. That’s something that I wouldn’t wish for any other kid to go through, and that is why I do what I do.”
